Here we see the roll-making end of the marker piano referred to in the last entry. (Larger JPEG of the assembly.) This piece of machinery totally looked like it was built before modern safety regulations. It had a 120V electrical cord attached to it as well. The last time I saw a cord like that, it was attached to a simple electric fan from the late 1950s or early 1960s, and that fan would’ve totally failed any modern safety inspection. (Its blades were metal, and the fan grille was so widely spaced that you could stick your fingers into the space where the blades were.)
But anyway, Monday was relatively normal at work. The only real excitement came when someone discovered that an RSS feed had been giving out bogus data for months, and it all had to be fixed right now. Not that difficult, just a tad annoying.
A big dust storm apparently is hitting Phoenix right now. It looked like it was going to rain earlier, but I haven’t seen a drop. Ah well.
