cat saying 'IKEA cat: some assembly required' Friday, there were a lot fewer people in the office than usual. This is only to be expected; everyone wanted to get a head start on the long weekend.

I went out to lunch. While I was eating, I got a text from the trouble ticket system. That text read ”       “. I figured that it was either somebody testing the system, or somebody had forgotten to enter in a vital info field. I didn’t worry about it. Then, when I got back to the office, I saw that it was an actual problem. Good grief. The system has been (mostly) working for a year, and now it’s failing miserably. I got another blank text from the system a bit later, and it was another real problem. I hope they can fix this.

My new computer parts arrived Friday afternoon. I haven’t taken the desktop box apart and put the new parts in yet, though. When I do that, my desktop will be completely out of action for at least 1.5 hours. So, installing the new parts would probably trigger a set of horrible problems at work, which would really be annoying to fix without a working desktop box. At least I have Monday off. That should give me plenty of time to do computer installation junk.
