unemployed stormtrooper on the subwayThis has nothing to do with anything, and is just silly.

It was 113 F on Saturday, and is going to be a similar temp today. I’m planning on not going out much. Hm. . . been reading Caldé of the Long Sun, by Gene Wolfe. This book adds a new wrinkle to Wolfe’s long list of stylistic oddities, as some important parts of the book are narrated from Auk’s point of view, and Auk sustains a head injury early on. This makes him an unreliable narrator. It’s quite a bit more frustrating and annoying to read than the first two books of the series because of this. Also, one of the gods who control the Whorl (the generation starship the whole series takes place on) has died, and this hasn’t been explained very well at all yet. It’s still an interesting story, but the reader has to have a lot of patience with it.
