metal tripod and cable used for crossing West Clear CreekThis odd-looking device was set up so that people (park rangers?) could cross to the other side of West Clear Creek without getting their feet wet. There’s a taut cable connecting this tripod to another tripod across the river, and a flimsy metal seat suspended from the cable. The creek was not that wide, and could have had a footbridge built across it, but there were no bridges at all for some reason.

Not a whole lot to report, actually. It’s going to be 100 F tomorrow, and next week, they’re having the world premiere of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” about 6 miles from my place. I will probably not be able to attend that—oh well.
