Recursion is important in programming. It’s when it happens in real life that you have to be careful.
I really didn’t do that much on Wednesday. Read a number of OMG PANIC reports from the media about the swine flu, and read a larger number of “Nothing to worry about” comments from people who [...]

Careful. The Fuzz is out there, watching you speed.
Still reading Cyteen. I spent most of Tuesday afternoon doing that, actually, since it’s such a long book. It’s. . . sort of like Dune in the scope of what the author was attempting to do, except slower paced, and with much less stuff [...]

SWINE FLU! OH NOES!
. . .but seriously, even with the threat of a pandemic, normal life went on on Monday. There was a picnic for several departments in the local newspaper on Monday afternoon, which I went to. When the picnic was announced, I didn’t know whether I’d be able to attend, [...]

Husky puppies can destroy a lot of stuff if left unsupervised.
Not a lot happened Sunday. I’ve entered all but 2 shelves of books into my database, and I’ve been surprised at how few books I actually have. 2 bookcases, and I have about 200 books. Oh well. It’s not quantity, it’s [...]

Bird feet are not particularly delicate, but it’s still pretty hardcore for a bird to perch on a razor wire’s razors.
Saturday, the plan was to go to the gun show in the morning, then to Kelli’s birthday lunch. Things went awry pretty early, since Zach didn’t even get to town until 10:30 when he [...]

Hm. [...]

I can’t even imagine what this is about. It was apparently a real sermon, recorded by a real person. But you have to admit, it would be a bit easier to implement than “The whole church should volunteer to help out at the homeless shelter”.
Hm. I’ve done a few necessary but really [...]

While camping 2 weeks ago, we saw a couple of dung piles like this near the river. We didn’t know for sure what left them. They had too much plant matter in them for it to be a bear. The rockiness of the area meant that it was unlikely for it to [...]

Typos are always amusing.
Not a whole lot to report, really. I have to get up really early on Wednesday morning and do some stuff. That didn’t quite work out as well as planned, but all the machines are happy now. It just took more time than I expected it’d take.
Trivia: Started late, and we [...]

This odd-looking device was set up so that people (park rangers?) could cross to the other side of West Clear Creek without getting their feet wet. There’s a taut cable connecting this tripod to another tripod across the river, and a flimsy metal seat suspended from the cable. The creek was not that [...]
