Okay, this is the end of Pig Week. When I had a guinea pig, the cats were all afraid of her and never tried to lick her. I don’t know. . . maybe cats and guinea pigs can get along well if they’re properly socialized. Guinea pigs are larger than the mice, voles, and birds that cats usually hunt.

Finished No News at Throat Lake. It’s a fairly good book, it’s just . . . short. I still don’t know why it was classified in the 000 section. Maybe it’s because it was so unfocused—it covered a wide range of topics, and books that do that are always difficult to classify. Maybe it’s because it was written by a member of the media, and one of the topics it covered was “the media”. Whatever, it’s certainly worth reading, even if the main point the author makes is, “Living and working in urban areas has its good points. Living and working in rural areas also has its good points.”

I have finished all my library books, so it’s time to return them and get new ones.  Getting new books is exciting.  It’s like your favorite major gift-giving holiday; you never know what you’re going to get.
