This was the view from outside my condo at about 4:05pm Sunday. It can rain a lot in a short amount of time here during monsoon season. I had seen the clouds building up earlier in the afternoon, and thought that it’d be a great idea to get the grocery shopping done sooner rather than later. It’s just annoying trying to carry plastic bags full of food through a torrential downpour. I heard from the local news that US-60 was closed at I-10 due to flooding, and people were sitting in traffic for over half an hour. It’s apparently too expensive to build storm sewers and drains for these big rains, since they only happen a few times per year.

Saturday night wasn’t described in yesterday’s blog entry. But anyway, that night, we all went over to Kelli’s and hung out and played Rock Band for the PS2. I also got to meet Miguel, whom I’ve heard many stories about but never seen. He travels a lot for work, I guess. The game is superficially similar to Rock Band for the Xbox 360, but all the details are totally different. It’s not possible to customize your characters, and there was a lag that was impossible to eradicate. I had to hit the notes slightly before the notes reached the line on bass and guitar. I could adjust easily, but the people who were playing drums couldn’t. That was annoying for them.

Not much else to report. Laundry, groceries, cleaning, and cooking don’t make for an exciting blog entry, no matter how necessary they are.
