This is not what they meant by “Communist Party”. Too bad, really. If Lenin and Stalin had gone to a few more fraternity keggers, Russia and Eastern Europe would probably be in a lot better shape than they are now.

On Wednesday morning, I learned that the install techs for the work-provided Net service would be at my house sometime on Thursday morning. This was a bit annoying, because the timing sucked. Work was completely silent about Net access for weeks, then told me I was getting it with less than 24 hours advance notice. I know stupid things happen, but this is a bit much. Well, it might be possible to contact my ISP and tell them that I’d like to cancel service before they bill me for another 6 months. If I am stuck with my current ISP for the next 6 months, I’ll only hook my machine to the work Net drop when I absolutely have to.

In other news, I have now been in Arizona for a whole year. I still miss trees and cloudy days and snow, though I’ve at least partially adapted to the heat and the dryness.
